A Sawmill in Wierdoton, a Chamber in Skillzville

Wierdoton's building yard never stopped, Skillzville opened a Chamber of Commerce, and three hunters met fourteen strangers in the wild.

There was sawdust in Wierdoton from one end of the day to the other. The youngest yard in the realm staked out a Sawmill, a Mine and a Textile Mill and had all three standing before dark, then put a second level on both its Hunter's Lodge and its Bank for good measure. Every project it broke ground on came in the same day but one — the Coal Shaft, still open ground, still waiting.

Two towns over, Skillzville was building at the other end of the same road. After a week of finishing things at Level 5 — the Trading Post, the Quarry, the Library, the Market — it laid out a Chamber of Commerce, the building that decides how many kinds of shop a town may keep. Wierdoton is learning to cut timber; Skillzville is deciding who gets a storefront. Both counted as a good day's work.

The wilderness had its best day in a while. The last few Heralds counted the realm's first meetings in ones and twos and fives; today there were fourteen, across fourteen different species, and only three hunters between them. bradskillz met six — a Musk Ox, a Grey Wolf, a Wild Boar, a Bighorn Sheep, an Ibex — and LordTrolldemort matched him six for six with an Arctic Fox, a Wolverine, a Snow Bison and a Caribou Bull among them. David (davesnothere) AZ-USA took two more. Ten player medals came out of the day: Big Game to Obsidian for LordTrolldemort, to Platinum for bradskillz, Hauler to Obsidian for Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹, and Appointed for both AMKS and Tyler, who took up offices in their cities.

XM Nexus spent the day laying out streets — cottage lanes at Thornoak and Stoneridge and Archgate, merchant frontage on Barley and Tidemark, and Milepost Close for the grand houses — and was the realm's favorite destination besides, drawing 706 prestige from twenty-nine visits. Smurftopia did much the same, opening Ivy Orchard Lane and Cloverfield Nook, Millstream Gardens and Birchwood Villas, though its Grocer and its Tailor both traded clean down to bare shelves by evening and will want a Supply Run. Outside SpudVille, meanwhile, better than twenty-six thousand cottage families are still standing in the road with nowhere yet to go.

In the counting house it was a day for settling up: over a hundred thousand gold of borrowing cleared across the realm, most of it ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸, who paid down 92,736 against his notes and then walked back out with a fresh 30,000 advance. The wagons ran their usual circuit, to the unit — the roads are a fixture now, not a story. On today's City Score, 🏗 Build leads on 642 with Crimson's City on 469 and Buzz Hollow 🏘️ on 351.

Two Charters and Five Strangers

bradskillz spent 100,000 gold on both Charters, then met five species he had never seen — while Skillzville took a Silver Boomtown.

Somebody in Skillzville decided today was the day. bradskillz bought a Master's Charter for fifty thousand gold — and then bought the Grandmaster's Charter too, for fifty thousand more. A hundred thousand gold, and not one tool level to show for it: a Charter hands over no mastery, only the room to go and earn it. The realm marked the moment anyway and named him Licensed Master.

Then he went hunting. Five species stepped into his Wildlife Passport for the first and only time — a Red Stag, a Boar Piglet, a Wild Goat, a Mouflon and a Lynx — and they were the realm's only first meetings all day. Naturalist climbed to Gold, Big Game to Gold beside it, and a scratch ticket turned up a diamond vault worth 5,500 gold on top. Of the realm's ten player medals today, a good handful had his name on them. Nineteen tool levels were earned across six players besides — the realm has been sharpening all week.

His city kept pace. Skillzville finished its Trading Post at Level 5, staked out its Quarry and finished that at Level 5 too, and opened a new cottage row — Foxglove Close, thirty families under a roof. For the growing neighborhood the city collected the day's only city medal: Boomtown, in Silver.

Further down the ladder, Wierdoton had the quieter landmark, and possibly the better one. Its Town Hall reached Level 3 — the rung that opens the guild floor — and rather than sit with it, the city broke ground on a Craftworks and had the doors open before the day was out. And LordTrolldemort, who came off the wilderness road only yesterday and made Citizen the same afternoon, made Developer today, picking up Trapper in Bronze and Fortune in Silver on the way past. Two rungs in two days.

Elsewhere: AMKS spent 175,000 gold on a single estate upgrade — the largest movement of coin anywhere in the realm today — and set a trophy unicorn on the lawn, one of three mythical beasts delivered to estates alongside Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹's basilisk and Buzzaroo's chimera. SpudVille drew the most callers, 693 prestige from thirty-two visits, with the Tycoons keeping its shelves in jade, glass, tapestry and spices. Smurftopia's Chandler sold its last candle and stands bare. At the bingo tables it was blackout after blackout, PlasmaEddie and Tyler both named Legend in the process. And 🏗 Build held the top of the board on 956, with Smurftopia close behind on 903.

From the Long Grass to Citizen

LordTrolldemort walked in off the wilderness road and was a Citizen before the day was out.

Some players take a season to find their footing. LordTrolldemort took a day. He came in off the wilderness road, spent his first coin at the Trading Post on a bow, a pickaxe and a workbench, and set about earning everything at once — Off the Grid, then First Gather, then Full Queue, Equipped, Artisan, Trade Route, Appointed. By the time the day closed he had been named Civilized and stood on the Citizens' register. The realm earned twenty-four medals today, and a striking share of them hang on one very new coat — over which, fittingly, he threw a community cape.

He hunted, too. The only two animals the realm met for the first time today were both his: a Desert Coyote at forty-one pounds, and a Ringtail at thirty-three. Two new pages in a passport that was blank yesterday. Elsewhere GrumpyGecko took Headhunter in Bronze, and ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸 and Jörg both reached Diamond on Fortune.

At the other end of the ladder, the purses opened wide. Some 875,000 gold left personal hands for estate upgrades — 350,000 apiece from Buzzaroo and Jörg, another 175,000 from ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸 — and a good deal of it was borrowed first, with Jörg drawing 113,000 and 50,000 on notes and ʂɧąŋɛ another 100,000. The proceeds are on display: a chimera on one estate, a phoenix on GrumpyGecko's, a wyvern at Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹's, and sage paint and a cactus at David (davesnothere) AZ-USA's.

Jensen spent the day in trade rather than decor, opening a Bookseller in six cities — SpudVille, Buzz Hollow 🏘️, XM Nexus, 🏗 Build, Crimson's City and Smurftopia. That makes three days running that a single merchant has papered the realm with one trade: Tailors, then Chandlers, now books. Shop counters across the realm paid out better than 86,000 gold today.

Davetopia broke ground on two neighborhoods at once — Copperkettle Lane for sixteen merchant families, Archstone Close for eight in the villas — and took Boomtown in Silver for the trouble. Smurftopia was named a Metropolis, XM Nexus reached Diamond on Commerce, and Skillzville staked out a Mine and finished it at Level 5 before the day was through, extending a building run that has not paused all week. On the board, 🏗 Build pushed past a thousand on 1,025, with Smurftopia climbing hard into second on 906; SpudVille drew the most visitors, 568 prestige from twenty-five of them.

A Chandler in Every Town

Candle-makers opened under one name in city after city — and by evening three of the realm's chandlers stood bare.

It was a day for wax, rope and lamp oil. ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸 opened a Chandler's counter across the realm — 🏗 Build, XM Nexus, Crimson's City, Buzz Hollow 🏘️, Smurftopia and SpudVille each woke to a new candle-maker behind a new counter. One trade, one name, six towns, one day.

The shelves answered quickly. By evening the Chandlers of SpudVille, XM Nexus and 🏗 Build had sold down to the last unit, and they were not alone — 🏗 Build's Tailor and Smurftopia's Bookseller were bare too, all of them waiting on a Supply Run. Across the realm the shop counters returned more gold than any other trade today: better than eighty-five thousand, gathered a few coins at a time over thousands of small sales.

Meanwhile Skillzville kept doing the thing that has become its habit. The Library it staked out yesterday topped out at Level 5. Then it broke ground on a Market — and had that finished at Level 5 too before the day was done. A young city that seems to have decided it will not build anything twice.

Out past the roads, LordTrolldemort collected Packed and Ready, First Expedition and Roughing It in a single day, three medals that read in order like the story of somebody's first night under canvas. bradskillz met a Badger — thirty-eight pounds, and once again the realm's only first meeting of the day. Seven medals were earned in all: Renown at Diamond for both Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹 and PlasmaEddie, Headhunter Bronze for ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸, and GrumpyGecko Appointed. And for a second day running, every personal best that moved stopped at exactly 242 pounds.

Elsewhere: invitations to Mr. Crane's Reserve were bought by GrumpyGecko, AMKS, ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸, Jörg and PlasmaEddie, all on the same day. SpudVille took delivery from tycoon after tycoon — gunpowder, glass, tapestry, spices, fine wine and jade, all in one afternoon. David (davesnothere) AZ-USA spent five thousand gold on an estate companion and named the dog Paisley. And on the board, 🏗 Build held the front on 955 while Davetopia climbed into second on 530, a dozen ahead of Crimson's City.

Every Scale Read 242

Every trophy that moved today weighed 242 pounds — and Skillzville raised a Lodge to Level 5 before breaking ground on a Library.

Trophy shelves shifted out in the wilderness today. Karen, CrimTest1 and ☃ each came back with an Elder Ice Bear; PlasmaEddie with an Ice Bear; Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹 and Jörg with Great Aurochs. And every last one of those new personal bests settled on the same number — 242 pounds. Different hunters, different beasts, one reading on the scale.

Skillzville had the only busy building yard in the realm. It staked out a Hunter's Lodge and — as it did with its Clay Pit earlier in the week — had the thing finished at Level 5 before the day was out, then turned around and broke ground on a Library. The caravans seemed to approve: Jörg ran ten units of spices in through the gate, with Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹 and ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸 following behind him. Its lodge parties brought home a 218-pounder for good measure.

bradskillz had the kind of day that never troubles the standings. He met a Wild Turkey — twenty-seven pounds, and the only first meeting anywhere in the realm today — and then went home and spent 19,500 gold furnishing the place: a mirror, a cactus, and a stand of bamboo.

In the counting house, Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹 cleared 26,250 gold of borrowing — the largest single movement of coin all day, and the rarer kind that goes out. The shop tills more than made up for it, taking in over eighty-five thousand between them. Nineteen tool levels went to eight players, more sharpening than either of the two days before it. The bingo cards came up blackout again and again: Buzzaroo took High Roller in Platinum, David (davesnothere) AZ-USA added Fortune in Gold and Cornerstone in Silver — the realm's three medals for the day — and Jörg turned a 250-gold scratch ticket into 390.

🏗 Build still sits well clear at the top of the board on 654. Second place changed hands again, though: SpudVille on 380, with Crimson's City a few points back on 373, then Davetopia and XM Nexus. SpudVille was also the realm's favorite destination, drawing 716 prestige across thirty visits — all those callers at the gate, and 22,356 families still waiting on a cottage inside it.

The Purse Strings, Wide Open

GrumpyGecko spent 175,000 gold on a single estate upgrade — more than twice what every shop in the realm took in today.

Some days the realm builds. Today the realm spent. One movement of coin towered over every other: GrumpyGecko laid out 175,000 gold on a single estate upgrade — more than twice the 85,247 that every stocked shelf in every city took in over the same day, and better than double the realm's entire wage bill. Whatever she has done to that house, it is not modest.

The Trading Post had the busiest counter it has seen in a while. Three hunters — GrumpyGecko, Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹 and PlasmaEddie — each bought a 2,000-gold invitation to Mr. Crane's Reserve on the same day. PlasmaEddie kept going, taking two Second Shifts and a Gamekeeper's Party besides, while ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸 quietly stacked four Rested Potions on the counter, one after another.

The bingo hall ran hot into the evening: blackout after blackout, and the prize crates paying out steadily behind them — 1,838 gold to GrumpyGecko across seventy-three of them, 1,343 to Jensen, 979 to Jörg. Cards cost the realm 6,500 gold today and containers handed back 30,650, and three players thought a neighbor's win worth cheering out loud.

Three medals were pinned today. Karen took two of them — Platinum Line Caller and Diamond Cornerstone — and David (davesnothere) AZ-USA, five days into a very fast start, was named Master Craftsman. Behind the medals, quieter work: eighteen tool levels earned across ten players, half the realm sharpening something.

At the top of the City Score board 🏗 Build holds clear at 1,426, but second place has changed hands — Smurftopia sits at 462 with Buzz Hollow 🏘️ at 340, and Crimson's City, second for most of the week, is fourth on 328. The travelers went elsewhere too: eighty-three landmark visits crossed the realm, and the deepest welcome was XM Nexus, which drew 605 prestige from twenty-two of them. The caravans, meanwhile, ran their usual rounds — 102 routes, unchanged to the unit from yesterday.

A Charter, and Two Coal Shafts

Fifty thousand gold for a Charter, two Coal Shafts four levels apart, and a first bow carried into the wilderness.

Fifty thousand gold left PlasmaEddie's purse today for a single piece of paper. A Grandmaster's Charter buys no levels — it buys room: the ceiling above a tool, lifted past where the first Charter left it. It was far and away the largest single movement of coin in the realm this past day, and it bought a promise rather than a thing.

The rest of the realm bought its progress the older way. Twelve tools gained a level today across eight different players — earned an hour at a time, at the bench and in the field. Gold buys the ceiling; work buys the climb.

Two Coal Shafts opened today, four levels apart. In Skillzville — lately arrived in the Age of Commerce — ground was broken and a Coal Shaft finished at Level 5, with a Farm alongside it at the same height. In Wierdoton, six days old, the ground was broken for a Clay Pit, a Coal Shaft and a Quarry, and all three were standing by the end of the day at Level 1. Then the young city started digging for its Town Hall. Same building, same day, two ends of the realm's whole story.

In the wilderness, David (davesnothere) AZ-USA spent 800 gold on a bow and 600 on a tanning rack and went out for the first time — and came home with First Blood, a five-pound Wood Pigeon and a two-pound Squirrel. Those were two of the three first meetings the realm recorded all day; bradskillz took the third, a sixteen-pound Bobcat, and Trapper Gold with it. Six medals were earned in all, among them Obsidian Hauler for Jörg and Traveler for ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸 at Platinum and CrimTest1 at Gold.

On the commercial side, Tailors opened under one name — Buzzaroo's — in 🏗 Build, Smurftopia, SpudVille, XM Nexus, Crimson's City and Buzz Hollow 🏘️. That last city's Chandler and Grocer, meanwhile, sold clean down to nothing and now wait on a Supply Run. Shop tills across the realm took in over 85,000 gold, and the realm handed back nearly as much again over vendors' counters. Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹 put 26,250 of his own toward a note.

🏗 Build holds the top of the City Score board again at 678, with Crimson's City at 365 and Buzz Hollow 🏘️ at 353. XM Nexus drew the day's heaviest prestige surge — 475 from eighteen visits — with SpudVille a step behind on the same count of callers. Tycoon caravans still favor SpudVille, though Skillzville drew spices and tapestry of its own, and the standing roads carried exactly what they carried yesterday: 194 legs, to the unit.

Three Roofs in Wierdoton, a Fifth Floor in Skillzville

The realm's youngest city raised three buildings from bare ground in a single day — while Skillzville took a Clay Pit to Level 5.

Five days ago Wierdoton was a name and a patch of ground. Today it broke ground on three projects and opened all three before the day was out: a Town Hall to Level 2, a Market, and a Hunter's Lodge. The order matters — it is Town Hall 2 that lets a Lodge exist at all, so the youngest city in the realm earned its hunting rights and used them in the same day.

At the other end of the same ladder, Skillzville spent its day on a single hole in the ground. Its Clay Pit was staked out and finished at Level 5 — the Age of Commerce grade. The city drew caravans to match: Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹 and ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸 brought in spices, and Buzzaroo a bolt of tapestry, giving the realm's luxury importers a second address to point at.

Out in the wild, bradskillz had the passport to themselves. Four species met for the very first time — a beaver, a young boar, a raccoon and a coyote — and every single first meeting the realm recorded today belonged to them. Naturalist Silver came with it. Elsewhere the standing trade routes moved 5,673 units across 194 legs, which is precisely what they moved yesterday, to the unit.

Crimson's City woke to four bare counters. The Apothecary, the Chandler, the Horologist and the Grocer all sold clean down to nothing and are waiting on a Supply Run — business was good, which is exactly the problem. Jörg, meanwhile, put his name on four of the day's five largest single payments, every one of them handed across a vendor's counter; a pair of scratch tickets returned 684 and 228 gold of it, which is a gesture rather than a rescue.

Medals were thin and well aimed: Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹 took Line Caller to Platinum and Cornerstone to Diamond, and David (davesnothere) AZ-USA collected Skilled and a Silver Renown. On the City Score board 🏗 Build closed at 1,572 to Crimson's City's 405 — three days ago those two were four points apart.

Every Caravan Ends at SpudVille

Spices, jade and gunpowder — every luxury caravan in the realm rolled to one address today, while Davetopia's Chamber climbed twice.

Some days the realm has a center of gravity, and today it was SpudVille. Every luxury caravan the realm's tycoons put on the road ended at the same gates — ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸 and Jörg with spices, Buzzaroo with jade, Karen and Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹 both hauling gunpowder, AMKS and PlasmaEddie with tapestry, GrumpyGecko with fine wine.

It is not hard to see why. SpudVille drew the day's biggest prestige surge — 595, off thirty-three landmark visits — and landmarks that busy burn through luxury faster than any one city can weave, cut or distill it. Outside the walls, 19,107 cottage families are still waiting on somewhere to live.

Elsewhere, Davetopia spent the whole day on a single building and finished it twice. The city broke ground on its Chamber of Commerce, opened it at Level 4, broke ground again and had it open at Level 5 before the day was out — the top of the Chamber ladder, and room on its books for every kind of shop the roster holds.

GrumpyGecko spent the day fitting out Toymakers: 🏗 Build, SpudVille, Crimson's City, Buzz Hollow 🏘️, XM Nexus and Smurftopia all have one over the door now. The realm's counters took 85,177 gold in sales and handed rather more than that straight back to the vendors, with Buzzaroo and ʂɧąŋɛ (Ɩąʂ ۷ɛɠąʂ) 🇺🇸 paying the largest bills. Ten players nudged a tool up a rung, eighteen level-ups between them. And the bingo halls ran hot — blackouts up and down the realm, 45,650 gold out of the prize containers, and 1,190 more to Jörg on a scratch ticket before he took Renown to Diamond. The day's real collector, though, was David (davesnothere) AZ-USA, who took five of the realm's eight medals: a first blackout of his own, then Cornerstone, High Roller, Fortune and Hauler. PlasmaEddie took the other Fortune, at Diamond, and Traveler to Gold.

At the top of the board 🏗 Build has stopped sharing — 664 to Crimson's City's 371, where two days ago four points separated them. Crimson's City spent its day zoning instead: Waycaravan Terrace for sixteen merchant families, Marigold Crescent for eight grand ones. And far out past all of it, the realm's only first meeting of the whole day was a hare — sixteen pounds, for bradskillz.

One of Every Tool in Wierdoton

The realm's newest city raised its Trading Post, and its founder walked out with one of every tool on the shelf.

Wierdoton broke ground on a Trading Post and opened its doors the same day — the realm's only completed build, and the only one it needed. The city is days old. Yesterday it had a Farm. Today it has a counter.

Founder David (davesnothere) AZ-USA did not browse. He bought a crucible, a workbench, a pickaxe, an axe, a scythe and a shovel — one of every tool on the shelf, and 6,050 gold gone in a single visit. The medals came in a run behind him: Resource Explorer, Open for Business, Equipped, then Fully Equipped — and then Artisan, for the first thing ever made at that new bench. A city with a workshop is a different city than one without.

Elsewhere the shelves ran the other way. Buzz Hollow 🏘️ took Diamond Boomtown — the day's only city medal — and zoned neighborhood after neighborhood to earn it: Brookford Row, Birch Hollow Cottages, Stoneridge Row and Copperkettle Row for cottage families, then merchant ground at Merchantsgate Row and Foxglove Orchards. Its Bookseller and its Grocer both sold out cold. So did the Booksellers of Crimson's City, Smurftopia, SpudVille and 🏗 Build, where the Victualler went bare beside it. Whatever the realm's resident families are reading, they finished it.

PlasmaEddie spent the day laying silver on counters, opening a Silversmith in SpudVille, Buzz Hollow 🏘️, Crimson's City, XM Nexus, Smurftopia and 🏗 Build — and paid the four steepest vendor bills of the day to do it. He walked away with Gold Line Caller, Platinum Cornerstone and Gold High Roller for the trouble.

Out in the wilderness six hunters came home at exactly the same weight: 242 lbs. Elder Ice Bears for Karen, CrimTest1 and ☃, an Ice Bear for PlasmaEddie, Great Aurochs for Jensen DisasterCthulhu Ԙ: ⚔️🏹 and Jörg — a perfectly level row of personal bests. The only new pages written in any Wildlife Passport today were GrumpyGecko's three, and they were modest ones: a Grouse, a Rabbit, a Hare. Karen also took Gold Traveler.

At the close, 🏗 Build holds the City Score board on 646 with Crimson's City four points behind on 642 — near enough that a single good hour decides it. SpudVille drew the realm's heaviest prestige surge, 692 from twenty-three landmark visits, and nine players pushed a tool to a new level of mastery. The bingo halls, for their part, called nothing but blackouts.
